ITCS PRIMO LEVI - Liceo Linguistico - Bollate

The linguistic high school develops the tradition of Primo Levi's Linguistic Address by providing for the study of three foreign languages within a wide range of possibilities: in addition to English, the officially universal language, French and German, the most common european languages  "Useful" in the large-scale distribution and industrial sectors. Russian, the language of the largest country on the European continent and Spanish, the second most spoken language in the world, after English.  The presence of Latin elements in the first two years enriches and consolidates the deepening of linguistic structures.


The linguistic curriculum is aimed at the formation of a figure with knowledge and skills that allow both the continuation of university studies and the insertion into work activities for which the knowledge of foreign languages is an indispensable requirement.
 During the five years the student will have the opportunity to deepen, together with the contents characterizing the high school culture, the study of foreign languages both under the aspect of linguistic-communicative skills according to the training parameters established by the EU, and under the literary and historical-philological aspect.

At the end of the study path the graduate will be able to:
  •  have a good knowledge of the Italian language and its lexical heritage
  •  recognize the elements of continuity, affinity or diversity between Italian and the other languages studied, both ancient and modern
  •  identify, through the study of the Latin language, the founding categories of our culture
  •  know the essential lines of our literary history and find our way easily between fundamental texts and authors, as well as establish significant and historically contextualized relationships with the most important movements and works of classical and modern literatures, especially with those of the countries whose language and culture they study
  •  communicate in three foreign languages, in different social fields and in professional situations
  •  recognize the elements characterizing the studied languages, the different textual genres, the different sectoral languages
  •  move from one language system to another, addressing specific disciplinary content
  •  know significant aspects of foreign literatures and cultures and reflect on them in an intercultural perspective
  •  confront critically with the knowledge and culture of other peoples, through contact with civilizations, lifestyles different from their own, also through study experiences in the countries where the languages studied are spoken
  •  identify and understand modern forms of communication, such as oral, written, visual, digital, multimedia messages, in their contents, in their expressive strategies and in the technical tools used
  •  use the computer lab to develop your communication skills
  •  analyze significant works of art, understanding their relationship with the historical and cultural context
  •  know and master the language of mathematics and the tools necessary for understanding the scientific disciplines also place mathematical and scientific thinking in the development of culture
